H.R. 3126, the Consumer Financial Protection Agency (CFPA) Act of 2009 will have significant unintended consequences that will harm consumers, rather than protect them.

Rather than address the failures in regulation that contributed to the current financial crisis, this will create a massive new government agency that will deprive consumers of what they want and need: affordability and choice.
