SB 885 – Gift Certificate Redemptions
Fresno Chamber Position: OPPOSE
SB 885 requires sellers of gift cards (i.e. retailers,
restaurants, entertainment venues and other service providers)
to give cash back to any customer who submits a gift
certificate/gift card with a balance under $20. This bill will
increase costs and place an additional burden cards when
California already has the highest cash back requirement in the
nation
