SB 287 (Calderon) Meal Periods

Southwest California Legislative Council Position: SUPPORT

SB 287 which will provide clarity and guidance for the compliance and enforcement of meal period laws. This proposed legislation is a comprehensive solution that serves employers and employees across all industries regardless of size or union status, providing clarification so employees have the opportunity to take meal breaks, enter into on-duty meal period agreements in appropriate situations, and collectively bargain for meal periods.
